In reply to Sherry. Hi Sherry, There is both good and bad teaching on the authority of the believer. That is why I teach a lot on it to provide a balance. I am just about finished with revising an updated language version of MacMillan's Authority of the Believer. I have also co-authored a book with Dr. Neill Foster on "Binding and Loosing: Exercising Authority Over the Dark Powers" which also provides corrective to the misuse of the concept. In my book "Only Believe" I deal with what is sound and what is unsound in the word of faith movement.

Interesting article. I would like to see an analysis to look at whether other works stayed true to the message of MacMillan’s teaching from Scripture or did it evolve into something that Biblically went astray? I believe MacMillan’s teaching stayed true to the Bible. I see that some who followed afterwards did not and went astray Biblically and became more likened to “Christian” witchcraft.

I have reviewed Rev. Paul King’s thesis on John Macmillan and his Authority of the Believer and find it
fascinating and very enlightening. I have been a student of Mr. MacMillans book , The Authority of the Believer, for some years and have found it to be, in my opinion, one of the great written works on the
subject of Christianity. I am glad others have understood where credit is due on the subject of our
authority as a believer in Christ. Although, I might say, everyone seems to get so much of this from
someone before them, dating back to the Apostle Paul, who got it from someone else, the Lord
Jesus Christ. All in all.

I am a student of God’s Eternal Word. This writing is great and fills many voids I know we must understand now today 2016. I being 85 years of age, have personally seen most miracles with my own eyes that Jesus performed. I know the authority of the believer is real. Brother McMillan’s is the front runner in the teaching, I believe he was being obedient to his calling and all his writings, inspired by our heavenly father God Almighty, through the Holy Spirit.
